About Fleetwood & Robb

Fleetwood & Robb was established in 1986 and is currently a small, privately run legal firm with strong local connections.  Clients both old and new will find their work is carried out at partnership level, not by an assistant, paralegal or legal trainee.  The firm has two partners, John Robb and Michael Charters.  Both are well respected not only by their own client base but within the local faculty of solicitors and other professionals.

The firm was established by John Robb and Gordon Fleetwood in the premises where they are today.  Gordon was a well respected criminal lawyer and John ran the general practice, dealing with civil matters, conveyancing, estate agency, wills and executries.  Gordon Fleetwood left the firm in 2004 when he was appointed a Sheriff.

John was born in Germany, whilst his father was in the Army.  He studied law at Edinburgh University graduating with honours in 1982, then served his legal apprenticeship with a firm in Inverness.  John is a fanatical rugby supporter and his other interests include ski-ing, hill walking and other outdoor pursuits.

Michael Charters was brought up in Inverness and attended the local primary and secondary schools.  He graduated from Aberdeen University with an honours degree in 1983, formerly a partner with Davidson, Scott & Company, he joined John in 2008 and was shortly thereafter assumed as a partner.  Michael is a keen amateur cyclist and also enjoys curling.
